Jordan's 1st Birthday!

Jordan's birthday was yesterday so we went to Jennifer's for birthday dinner. Jordan didn't really know what was going on, but he does have a passion for wheels so he got some little cars that he loved, and lots of new clothes, now he wasn't that excited about clothes but he is a bit young for that anyway. He had a little cake that Macy's gives for a 1st birthday when you order a regular birthday cake, so we gave it to him and he wasn't just real fond of touching it, he liked looking at it but he hated the feel of his icing...I think you can tell that from one of the pictures I've posted. All in all it was a nice evening and fun to play with all the kids, they blew up lots of balloons so we got to hear a few of those popped! Oh and Jordan is walking now too, finally! He isn't just real sure of himself yet, but he does pretty good. He also had his appointment at the doctor for his year checkup and he weighs 20lbs, and is in the 12th percentile because of his height I think because they said he is in the 90th percentile for height! So maybe he will be a tall boy, his brother Griffin has always been taller than the average, nope they didn't get it from their nana, but I do have brothers over 6 ft tall and one son who is about 6 ft!

Keleigh at 4 months!

Sarah is down visiting Jennifer in Spanish Fork and she sent me these photos of Keleigh in her cousin Jordans pj's. The pics make her look so much older! I just had to post them, she is growing so fast! It makes me sad to see how fast they grow up :(
But isn't she a cutie pie!

Room 1028!

Friday was our 6 year anniversary and I said in a previous post that we were just going to SLC. We got a weekend getaway package and so our room was in the tower, room 1028 at the Little America Hotel! We had a great view, and a beautiful room. You know it's fun to stay in really nice places :)! We had a great dinner in the steak house there that night. We both ordered the pecan crusted halibut with grilled shrimp! Yum Yum! We shopped earlier in the day after checking in to our room and we bought a new camera and decided we needed to look further for our motorcycle boots and pants...Chad loves the online shopping but I'm afraid of buying shoes online! After dinner we just enjoyed some great conversation and stuff :)

6 Years! Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 6 year anniversary! Sometimes it is hard to believe we have been together six years but other times it feels like I've always known him! We don't have a fairy tale story or anything but we did find our soul mate when we met. We fit! We have our differences don't get me wrong, but mostly they compliment the other! We have learned how to let the petty things go and only worry about the big stuff, which is really important in marriage,or any relationship! We have had lots of fun together, traveling, motorcycling, dancing, dreaming, playing, enjoying our families, spending time at our cabin in Bear Lake, we lived a lot of life in the past 6 years. I look forward to the rest of our lives together! I love you Chad!

We have in the past planned exotic vacations for our anniversary but this year because of the economy we are going to just spend the night in Salt Lake at the Little America, enjoy a nice dinner, and go out and do something fun, we aren't planning it just flying by the seat of our pants! Oh we are going to go shopping at the Honda shop or Harley for bike boots and pants, that's what we decided to do for our anniversary gifts to each other! We'll post pictures later this weekend!

Easter at Jennifer and Scott's

We headed to Spanish Fork for Easter Sunday and had a wonderful time with Jennifer's family. She made a very tasty lunch for us. Then we did an Easter egg hunt with the kids. What fun watching them hunt the eggs! We have a very cute bunch of grandkids!

Here are some photos of our day at Jennifer's:
I will have Sarah post some video of our egg hunt when she has time!

Easter celebration!

Well my camera is broken! So I didn't get to take any pics today but we just had a great little celebration! We had Easter lunch with Joe & Dar and their kids plus Aliza, and Jennie was able to make it too. We also were blessed to be able to have Jessie, Ethan and Tori join us. We had a great lunch and several hours of just enjoying each others company. It was really nice. I'm so glad for the changes in our lives this last little bit! Reaching out and bringing your family back into the fold is a really good thing! I know that this is what happiness really is. Chad even said to me after everyone left a bit ago, Anna, you did a good thing and he thanked me! Joe was very grateful to me as well he hugged me and told me thank you too. The thing they don't realize is, I'm happy with what I've done, I'm happy to have all of them in my life! I just wanted to write a little post about it so here it is! Jessie is supposed to email me some pics and I'll post them when she does. Meeting Tori was great, she is such a cutie pie, and a smart little girl too, what a doll! She is learning to sign too and I think that is really cool! Well I'm done babbling now, but I was just excited and wanted to keep this in my journal! :)

Isn't he just the cutest little boy...lookout mom the girls are gonna be all over him!

Do you ever wonder...

if you can please everyone all the time? I have found in life that you can't and sometimes the people with the most negativity just have to be let go from your life. I want to be around people who can be upbeat and happy and not driven to find fault in everyone and everything, none of us are perfect and we've all made mistakes in relationships that you wish you hadn't. I used to have a lot of negative thoughts, (as explained in my post from yesterday) but I have grown up (yes I know I'm 53!) and it did take a while to get a better perspective on what life should be. I don't want to be lonely when I am old and I don't want to be alone in life. I have the choice to make sure that I'm not but I had to change me first! I want to be happy and so making changes in me first was the key! Life is just so short as it is and I have read a lot of articles about stress which say you should do away with all the stress in your life. I mean the little everyday "stress" like getting to work on time or to bed on time that is one thing but when there are people in your life that constantly dwell on the negative and you have tried everything in your power to convince them it would be ok to let the past go and move forward but they just refuse and want to dwell on everything "bad" that has ever been done to them then you must cut them loose. I hate this and it hurts but I want peace in my life and I just didn't have it with all that was going on, so I tried to be gentle in my efforts to convince someone that they were not helping their self nor anyone around them by not letting go of negativity but instead they twist and turn things around and I think truly believe in their own mind that they have never done anything wrong. However there are always always more than one side to a story and unless you were there in person to hear and see everything then you just don't have a clue. Plus people are all different and interpret things in different manners, I used to believe all I was told but have learned not everything is as it seems. Some people just have issues that are beyond anything I could ever do to help. It is sad when you lose some people in your life especially when you have been close but sometimes it is a necessary evil I guess? Sorry about my ramblings but I have had this on my mind for a week or so and sometimes writing things down really helps. This blog is a sort of journal for me and our life and this is what is going on today; Well this and my mother-in-law got robbed last night and she was at home with the robber in the house!

Today...was a really good day already!

I just have some random thoughts about life that I wanted to write down today. Because for the last six years lots of things in our lives as far as relationships goes have been full of drama, sadness, and insanity. You see when people divorce and have adult children it brings a whole set of problems that didn't exist previously for those adult children, but then when you throw a 'new' person into the mix as either the new wife or new husband life gets a little topsy turvy in those same children! I used to believe when you divorce then it's done and over but life has proven to me that this is just not the case if there are children involved even if they are adult children. I was very insecure when I married Chad 6 years ago, because the baggage I brought with me from my previous life didn't lend to much confidence that someone could love me for me. So I was afraid of everyone and everything. I have 'grown' in the past several months to realize (probably been growing for 6 years:)) but anyway to realize that Chad loves me and we were meant to be together. It does not however delete his life before me just as me loving him does not delete my life before him. We took a trip to Texas in January that was really enlightening to me in a way I hadn't noticed before. My three kids that were there in Texas had a difficult time because of the torn 'relationship' of their father and me. We have issues, I have been plenty willing to give up those issues and have a decent relationship with my ex for the sake of my kids and the sake of myself but he can't let go of the past. He could when he was married to his second wife but now that I am remarried it is all a different story. Anyway I saw how that was tearing at my 3 children and I realized it just isn't worth it. Chad and I have had that kind of relationship in the past 6 years with his ex Gretchen and I realized it must tear at his kids in the same way it was tearing at mine. I have given a lot of thought for probably the past several months (since last May) about how short our lives really are and how much we miss when we resolve to let pettiness and our own selfishness get in the way of 'relationships' and how they should be. We have missed out on grandchildrens' births, and so much more with some of his children and my sons and I don't want to miss anything else and I know Chad doesn't. He is such a kind hearted and loving man and he loves deeply. So I reached out to Gretchen and asked if we could mend the relationship for the sake of us all. She was more than willing to work on this with us. We just had a really good lunch with Gretchen and Kaden. We talked about issues and feelings and I realize that just because two people can't work in a marriage it doesn't make one or the other of the two people a 'bad' person. Oil and water do not mix! Just as sometimes things happen in life that mess with the 'mixture' of two people. I want Chad and I to have a relationship with all of his kids just as I want good relationships with my four children, and someone has to initiate the 'working through'. I chose that position as initiator and I'm glad I did. I think I could actually come to understand and be a friend to Gretchen (I know I am gonna try)we are all family after all. We are looking forward now to being one big happy family, I sure hope we all can look forward to our future and let the past stay in the past! People change as they age, and I think we have all changed. Life is good, and it is gonna just get better and better!

Keleigh giggles!

Sarah is spending time with Jennifer this week in Spanish Fork and they called me tonight to listen to Keleigh giggle! I have been trying for a couple weeks to get a giggle and she has been trying but couldn't quite get the "real" giggle out! But tonight I got to hear that sweet sound of a baby giggle! Now Keleigh and Jordan will be giggling together a lot I imagine! It's so fun watching the babies learn new things isn't it! I will post an updated pic when she comes home!

Easter Bunny is on his way!

We saw the Easter Bunny sneaking around and we know he is on his way here! I'm really excited for Easter this year, for a number of reasons! One reason is because I'm so excited for Spring, because it means great motorcycle riding weather, fun outside with grandkids, working in the yard, my math class will be over! Another reason is because this year Easter is bringing us one more grandson! We had two born last year around Easter and this year Macey will join us and Jordan and Kaden will each turn one~! I think as each year goes by I get more and more excited to spend time with grandchildren. I wish they all lived around us so we could have lots of grandkid time! I wonder if it is because they say you revert to your childhood ways as you age? We aren't that old yet I hope! But it is a lot of fun watching them grow. We are going to Jennifer's in Spanish Fork on Sunday for Easter lunch and some egg hunting. We are hoping to have other family to our house either Saturday or Sunday dinner but we haven't heard back from them yet. I love cooking, and I love doing it for family. I like to invent new recipes for them to try. So I've been thinking what I can make for Sunday that will be a hit! I LOVE SPRING!

Creative Chad

Chad has been busy the last couple months woodworking! He has built decorative shelves for me, shoe racks for me and Sarah, and these cute little decorative things that Jennifer and I use. Jennifer bought me this little set of wooden letters at Christmas that spell HOME but you change the O out at different seasons, with it she bought me the wrapped gift for Christmas season, the acorn for fall, the witches hat for Halloween, the turkey for Thanksgiving. So we enlisted Chad to make us the rest of the wooden pieces for the other holidays and seasons. Jennifer actually cut us both out a heart and painted them for Valentines. Chad cut us out shamrocks for St. Pattys day, an egg (which we each painted with our own ideas)for Easter, a lady bug (Chads idea) for Spring, a sunflower for August, and a star painted red, white and blue for the 4th of July as well as a snowman I need to decorate for January. It has been really fun watching him work on these little things for us. He made both Jennifer and me a set of the little HOME things. We are trying to talk him into cutting out more things for us, and we are thinking we could sell them at fairs or something! I'll post some pics of our decor! I love decorating the house for holidays and seasons! So much fun! Chad is really creative, he remodeled our house and added a lot of nice features including an entryway we didn't have before and my mother-in-law Beulah bought us some beautiful decor to decorate it! I love changing little things in the entryway for the different holidays/seasons! I will post the pics later today!

Ebay...Chad's past time!

Chad has found out how "fun" ebay is!(not my personal opinion) He decided that he couldn't really 'use' all of his keyboards (since you can't play more than one at a time, or two) and they were really not gaining value hanging out in our basement. So one at a time he got them out of the basement, set them up, checked them out, played with them...one last time and then took photo memories of them and posted them on ebay for sale. He was so excited when it was time for the bidding to wind down and couldn't handle not being on his computer. His laptop has been like an appendage for the last couple months while he has become an ebay wizard. He has really had a good time selling his keyboards, all in an effort to purchase a new one! He has used a Roland RD 700 stage piano since I met him, he bought it right after we started seeing each other back in September 02. But I guess before I knew him he had actually always played out at gigs using two keyboards. So he was all about getting an organ to use at his gigs with his Roland piano. So he started looking at Nords and Hammonds. Well he found what he wanted a Hammond B3 clone. Anyway I wanted to post a pic of him with his new toy! But that will come a little later, he has a gig tonight and I'll get a pic of him then! and post later. But for now this is his new set-up, the Hammond(his new toy) is the one on top!
