Change...even at Bear Lake...

I love Bear Lake!

Change...I guess it happens all the time and everywhere...even if there are things that you wish would never change...
Little Switzerland is the best! We have a cabin at Bear Lake Chad's dad built it over 40 years ago and it is in the most beautiful place. He named the property Little Switzerland and I've heard it's because it does look a little like it in the winter! I do love being at the cabin in winter, it's beautiful. I'll have to download some of the pictures we have and post them later! It sits right by Swan Creek and you can hear the water rushing by and it is so peaceful.

It is sad however how much Bear Lake is changing, there are many many more cabins now than in the recent past. I'm afraid the ambiance of the lake area is going to be lost amidst all the cabins popping up! We have the most beautiful view when we ride the 4 wheelers up to the top of the hill but soon that view will be blocked by cabins lots and lots of cabins. Everyone is selling lots and building. Change... :(

Anniversary!

On a cruise 2007

At a birthday party for a friend at one of our favorite hangouts
Shooting Star in Huntsville!

It has been six years since we had our first date! I had seen Chad playing with his son Joe in the band Roughwater and thought he was cute. But for months I was a little afraid to make any moves on him. I danced with him a few times when the band would take their breaks, it went like this for months, nothing really leading me to believe he even really noticed me! Then lo and behold on Friday night of Labor Day weekend I was out dancing and his band was playing at the Outlaw and he came over and talked to me and asked what I happened to be doing for the "holiday" and I said no plans other than working! Chad asked me if I would like to go on a motorcycle ride with him and then called me at 2am on Sunday morning (I had a date on Saturday with another guy and didn't go out to the Outlaw that night)to make sure I still wanted to go! Of course I said yes :) He picked me up early on Sunday morning of Labor Day weekend and said we were going to Lava Hot Springs. We had a great time, and slowly but surely we gravitated to inseparable! So I always look at Labor Day weekend as an anniversary for us, it was just the beginning, and I'm so happy I went on that motorcycle ride! Our real anniversary is April 24th! 2009 will be 6 years!
