Changes changes changes!

Ok so the colors eggplant and sage have turned in to all shades of purples, which actually is really pretty, and lime green (because she wants the kermit pom poms in her bouquet and they make it really pretty. She also added lavender roses to her bouquet, with both colors of ribbon, it is going to be beautiful! Flowers are ordered, check! Oh and they included the centerpieces and cake flowers!!!

I'm making her a cake, she wants two tiers square, (I can do that), and she wants it decorated with lavender roses and kermit poms, and on top a glass temple with one single orchid bloom, I can do it!! No nasty fondant, good whipped frosting, I really can do that!!! :) Oh and the dessert buffet has changed a bit, someone offered their chocolate fountain so now we are having that instead of the chocolate covered strawberries...and maybe I'll even cut out some other stuff! :)

I'm still trying to talk her into the Bountiful Temple!! We shall see!

My ward relief society are going to help with the food and the young women girls are going to help keep things refreshed!

Now I just have to figure out the backdrops for pictures and cake table etc! Below is a pic of what her bouquet will look a bit like, just doesn't have the kermits in it or the purple and green ribbon!

Dessert Buffet!

I've read a lot about dessert buffet's for weddings. I however am torn about whether it is correct as far as etiquette is concerned, to only serve a dessert buffet instead of other foods or together with other foods? My plan is to serve the following:

Fruit tarts
chocolate covered strawberries
parfaits (chocolate mousse and banana pudding (southern style)
brownie bites
creme puffs

cookie platter (variety as well)
I also have two really cool jars I'm going to fill with candies in her wedding colors?

Now is this ok or what? Do I need to serve other substantial foods, or since they are having this at 7-9pm will this be ok?

Excitement! Great apparel finds!

Jennifer and I went shopping yesterday, and we found dresses for the wedding! Now this was so exciting because the "last time" Sarah was planning a wedding we shopped many times with no luck whatsoever in finding something to wear, but this time oh so different!! We didn't even go to that many stores! As a matter of fact we only visited 2! I got a dress that is eggplant color, Jennifer's is a bit darker purple, and Jada and Madi's are so so cute we found them at Penneys and they blend from a lilac color into a very much darker purple which actually blends very well with both mine and Jennifer's. Must be kismet! It was meant to be??? :)

We also found some beautiful flowers, they are orchids but in the most beautiful purple blends with a hint of pink! Can't wait for Sarah to see all we did!

Will post pics of everything real soon!

Sarah got her dress!!!

Sarah found her the perfect wedding dress! She looks lovely in it! I can't post pictures yet but soon...we are going to do some bridal portraits this week and hopefully can post some without Courtney looking at our blog!

They have chosen March 20th for their wedding date! They are going to get married in the Mt. Timpanogos temple earlier in the day and have the reception in the evening at our ward building that evening. We are busy busy getting it all figured out. We have out of state guests coming from Oregon so we have lots and lots to do to get ready!

We still have to find Keleigh a little dress to wear.

Her colors are eggplant and sage green! She would like it to be an elegant look for her reception. So not what I thought Sarah would ever choose, funny how things change!

All is well...

Just a little update. Keleigh's strep is gone, and she seems to have no residual from the scarlet fever, they'll keep checking on her to make sure. We have all had colds and a touch of the flu, not fun!

Taught my first primary class today, boy was that an "experience"! I have one really rowdy little boy that will surely prove to be my test! It is a fun little class, CTR 6 which is 5 and 6 year olds. Jennifer came up today and went to church so Madi got to go to my class with me, I must say she is a very well behaved little girl! A class full of Madi's would be a huge blessing!

Not a lot of news here. We are just doing a lot of wedding planning, having fun doing it!

Keleigh is really sick...:(

Keleigh spiked a fever of 105.1 about 3am this morning and we took her to the emergency room. The er doc said it was just an ear infection, but I've had kids with ear infections and never had they had a fever this high. Fortunately we had an appointment with her regular doctor for a well child visit, her year visit and decided we should keep that 10 am appt. As suspected the greatest pediatrician I've had the pleasure to meet told us that we were right no child would spike this high of a temp with a simple ear infection! He looked at her throat and immediately did a strep test...she had had a rash while we were at the hospital...and the er doc looked at her throat! Needless to say Keleigh has strep which has progressed to Scarlet fever! She is a very sick little girl and we are having a real hard time keeping her fever down! So when you say your prayers tonight please think of our little Keleigh and ask for the Lords blessings on her. Our bishop came over and gave her a healing blessing and I do believe in these blessings and I know she is going to get well, it's just she is having to go through so much pain right now and it is so so sad. Pray also that none of the other grandchildren get this!

Eggplant & Sage ?? Theme and color changes!

So Sarah last time wanted this real party fun kind of theme for her wedding, and this time she wants the total opposite! She had thought she wanted gerbera daisies and orange, lime green, bright blue and pink for her colors along with polka dots, but then while looking at fabric she made a change...I really think it was after she chose her dress, but she decided she wanted elegance instead of fun! She has chosen her colors eggplant and either sage or olive green...now at first I thought could those really be that pretty? But I've looked online at a lot of pictures and those colors are actually very elegant for a wedding. I'm so impressed and excited to make this happen for her!

Courtney has already acquired their new home and is going to set up housekeeping alone until Sarah and Keleigh can join him...they are excited to decorate their new home! They are going to be in Lehi, Utah, now this means Keleigh is going to be quite a distance from us, and that makes us very sad. But we are thrilled for Sarah and Keleigh to begin this new chapter in their lives. We will just have to have lots of visits, and of course overnights with Nana and Grandpa will be in order!

Bling...no bling...bling...no bling?

So we (Sarah, Jennifer & me)searched for a wedding dress and it took several hours and several and I do mean SEVERAL dresses before she(Sarah) had her ahhhhhh moment and knew it was the one! I seriously think she tried on between 40 and 50 gowns...she started out saying she wanted a lot of bling...she liked that idea...then went to no bling at all and then no I like the bling...and then she tried on a beautifully simple dress and had her ahhhh moment...there is absolutely no bling on this dress but it is so so beautifully elegant! I love her choice! Will post pics as soon as we have her bridals done! Wedding date is possibly moving to March 20, 2010...need to be sure Courtney has his temple clearance for a second marriage!
